Note: There is also a XTreeGold for DOS version in circulation, which pretends to be a "4.0"
release; although, as a matter of fact, this is rather the work of someone, who has hacked all the
version numbers from 3.0 up to 4.0 ! Aside from this edited "version numbers" those
files are prefectly identical with the XTreeGold 3.0 release (and not even the latest 3.01 revision!).

The very last version, introduced as successor
for both XTG DOS 3.0 and XTWin 2.0 , therefore the first Windows version
to be keystroke compatible with the DOS versions. A patch for Win95 LFNs
made available in the late 1994 (available
here (w95fix.exe)) as the last ever development for XTree. This release
was the first no longer under the brand of Xtree Company/ Executive Systems,
but from Central Point, which itself has been taken over by Symantec during
